About Our Care Home

About Little Croft Care Home

Little Croft Care Home is a Bristol residential care home, situated on Barry Road in the village of Oldland Common, approximately 8 miles between the city centres of Bristol and Bath. It stands in its own grounds, set back from the main road with beautiful gardens and plenty of parking.

Carol Evans, a highly accomplished Registered Manager, looks after the daily running of Little Croft and we ensure all our staff are trained to the highest standards required by the Care Quality Commission Regulations. We take this further by providing extended care-based training, equipping our staff to give you the highest qualities of care and empathy.

We are proud of our ‘Good’ rating in every category from the CQC and are continually striving for the top rating of ‘outstanding’, an award we want to achieve to recognise the great level of care our staff already provide.

Little Croft Care Home also uses a computerised system for care plans, accident forms, training, audits, and policies, that ensures the smooth running of the home and that nothing is missed. We also record the day-to-day activities and your feedback as this helps us to keep improving the level of care we give you.

Our Residential Care

We know how big a step it can be leaving your home, so our aim is to ensure we give you an excellent quality of life in a welcoming, friendly, safe but still stimulating environment. We want you to get the best from your later years, so we help you to make the most of your abilities and keep as active as you can to keep enjoying good health.

Our friendly, passionate and fully trained staff work tirelessly to ensure you are treated with the respect you deserve, given the assistance you need and encouraged to make your own choices, just as you would in your own home.

We want you to continue to live as full a life as possible. We provide person-centred care as needed, to help you stay independent and to enjoy our community and the environment around you, helping create that positive feeling of well-being. Find out more >

Mild Dementia Care

If you are living with mild dementia, as some of our residents are, we will take the time to understand and focus on your particular needs and adapt the care we provide accordingly.

We understand that memory loss can affect every person differently and some days are better than others. Our staff will always take the necessary time and patience with you, helping you to stay comfortable and secure in a friendly, familiar environment. Find out more >

Respite Care

Sometimes, you need time away from home to recuperate from an illness or a period in hospital. At Little Croft Care Home, we offer you the chance of a short-term stay, giving you a much needed break and time to recuperate.

We have many residents who take regular respite breaks with us, giving them a change of environment and enjoying the chance to socialise with our long-term residents, making new friends and having fun.

Respite Care can also help to ease the transition into Residential Care, for those who are unsure about taking that step.

End of Life Care

We also believe it’s important, as part of advance care planning, to proactively discuss end of life care with our residents and those closest to them, to give our residents the opportunity to specify their wishes.

Talking in advance with someone about what they want to happen when they are at the end of their life is essential as it ensures they are able to state what they want to happen, who they want to be with them, and what they want in place before and after they have gone.

Using this information, along with the Department of Health’s guidance on palliative care, and partnerships with health professionals and hospices, our teams are able to support our residents to ensure they not only have a happy and fulfilled life while they are with us, but also a dignified death that meets their wishes.
